Another Poem - "Too Busy"

The dishes are still in the sink.

Dirty laundry is piled up high.
Somehow the entire day,
Seemed to just fly by.

I made a "to-do" list.
I meant to follow through.
But there were other tasks,
That needed attention too.

Like cheering on my daughter,
As she took first steps into my arms,
Making sure she stayed safe,
From potential harms.

Cuddling on the couch,
And reading a favourite story.
Helping her explore the world,
And marvel at all its glory.

So the chores will have to wait.
They aren't that important anyway.
Because I was simply too busy,
Loving my child today.

by Sabrina A. Taylor

I love this poem because I can relate to it. Jonathan will walk to me, pull my shirt and point to the direction of his toys, wanting me to play with him. If I tell him to give me a few minutes, he will give me the sad look or just whine about. So in the end I have to stop what I am doing immediately and attend to him.

Children's Museum of Transportation

This was the much awaited Sunday with Uncle Joe, Auntie Huili, Uncle Rohit, Auntie Suvi & the kids (Ian, Ky-Shan & Raina) to the Taipei Children's Museum of Transportation. The kids had lots of fun. Justin enjoyed his go-kart ride the most. Jonathan, however, preferred to sit on the boat ride.

I laughed when I saw the video below. First impression - it seemed that Papa was reliving his childhood dream, driving as fast as he could. On the other hand, Justin was screaming out "very fast, very fast" as if it was too fast and he wanted to slow down. He even tried to depress the brake pedal!

(PS: Do turn off the volume of the flash player on the top left hand corner of the page before viewing the video. You need to hear the conversation that took place)

Video Synopsis (according to Papa):

Time Frame
01 sec
When Justin shouted "very fast, very fast", he meant he wanted the car to go very fast

16 sec
"Don't brake Justin, cannot brake". Justin actually thought he was pressing the accelerator (not the break pedal)

21 sec
"Woah! Bye bye!" Papa was waving to Uncle Joe & Ian who just passed by in the opposite direction

25 sec
"Woah! Oh, Ok. Aiyah!" Justin was disappointed because they slowed down after the turn

Miramar Entertainment Centre

A Saturday family day out to Miramar Entertainment Park, a shopping mall at Dazhi area of Taipei. The five storey building houses an IMAX theatre, cinema, shops & the Ferris Wheel. We reached the place at 5pm, wandered around till dinner time and watched the night scene on the Ferris Wheel.
