Prawn Pasta Salad Bento

I made Prawn Pasta Salad for Justin's lunch at school today. Easy to prepare and suitable to eat at room temperature. Mixed the boiled pasta with tomato, blanched broccoli and dressing (olive oil, mayonnaise, dash of lemon and a little pepper). Added boiled prawns, carrots and quail eggs on top of the pasta. Garnished with oregano leaves.

LaLaport Tokyo-Bay

After 2 weeks hiatus, I finally have the time and energy to update the blog. I have been pretty busy with the kids. By the time they fall asleep at night, I am either zonked out or mentally drained. And yes, Papa is finally back from his Hong Kong trip. Yippee!!!

We went to LaLaport Tokyo-Bay for lunch today. The first time I went there with Auntie Annie, Aomi and Jonathan. It's a nice place away from the city and next to the sea. A huge shopping complex with restaurants on the 3rd floor. Even though it was crowded, we could still find seats at the Food Circus food court (Marché style). Best of all, there is a Singapore Seafood Republic stall which sells laksa, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice. The roti prata is kind of expensive for 880 yen (S$13.50) when you can have for S$2.50 back home.

After lunch, we dropped by Kinokunia book store next door. Not many English books in store. Check out their new Croc shoes which Papa bought for them from Hong Kong. They were a little too big for both of them, but the boys seem to like it a lot.

We walked around for awhile. Other shops there include ToysRUs, Uniqlo, Tokyu Hands, Actus, Kidszania, Franc Franc, Aoki Supermarket, Gap, Muji, French Connection, United Cinemas, and much more.

Next, KOPI time!!!!

The one and only Ya Kun stall in Tokyo

We ordered Kaya toast sets and milo (in Japan it's called ミロ , pronounced as mee-ro) for the kids. Just like what we usually have back in Singapore.

A nice and relaxing Sunday. (*Smiles*)

Summer Vacation - Fun Activities

Summer holiday has started. Justin had a play date with his friends at home which he thoroughly enjoyed. That night before bedtime, he gave me a hug and thanked me for the lovely day he had. So sweet.

The next day, I decided to do something which I had in mind for some time. A fun but messy activity - making dough. It's a very simple activity, just add flour to water and play with the consistencies to form the dough. Justin added water to flour, kneaded the dough and cut it into different shapes using cookie cutters. Jonathan joined later after waking up from his 2 hour siesta. The whole activity kept the kids busy for about an hour. I watched from the side and gave them space for free play.

But what happened after they got bored of playing their dough? Justin tried to wipe some flour off Jon's cheeks with his dirty hands ... ...

And figured that it was more fun to cover his brother's face with flour instead ... ...

Jon tries to stop him, to no avail:

So finally, this was what happened:

It was fun and hilarious during the whole process. After all, it's just flour and water. Let the kids dirty themselves and clean up later.

School Year End Celebration

The school's Year End Celebration was held at the National Olympics Memorial Youth Centre on Friday. I brought Jonathan along with me for Justin's graduation ceremony. Every class presented two items of dance and song. The Whales class performed a Mickey Mouse March and Whales Medley.

Whales Medley - Stand By Me

There were sentimental moments for the teachers and the class after the ceremony. Many of the girls started crying and saying that they didn't want to leave the school. The kids must have enjoyed themselves in school. Justin will miss his friends and teachers.

A big THANK YOU to the teachers for the wonderful year Justin had in school.

The farewell class party was held on the last day of school. The teachers gave out Go-en (5 yen) coins to the students to wish them luck and success in the future. They also handed out class year books and school year books.
