This site is specially dedicated to my three lovely koalas, Justin, Jonathan and Cheryl.
It is a great joy watching them grow and learn new things each passing day.
Now, he is pulling up and standing at 7 months!! Hooray! I actually have to make extra effort to release his fingers from the crib because he holds on very tightly. The little fella is hanging on for his dear life!
His legs aren't really strong to support himself on his own yet, but if I hold him upright under his arms, he will push himself up with his feet (almost as if he's walking).
Good job, Jon! Next milestone - walking around the crib with support.
I have heard of many stories of elder siblings becoming rebellious and jealous when the little one arrives. I didn't want that to happen, so before Jonathan was born I bought Justin a gift (supposedly from his lil' bro). When the big day arrived, I handed the gift to him saying that it was from his brother. He commented, as a matter of factly, "Di Di (aka little brother) didn't buy this for me". (*silence*) (*smiles*) But he was happy with his Thomas water bottle.
For the next few months, I actively involved him in daily activities like getting diapers, bringing Jon's milk, getting bibs, wet tissues for his brother. He gladly obliged and actually felt proud to be of help. I praised him for being such a "helpful engine".
I am glad to say that he loves his brother a lot. He even lets Jonathan grab and pull his hair without complain. Very different from his normal unruly behaviour to others. And he loves planting lots of kisses on Jonathan.
The two seem to get on very well so far. And it's amazing how Jus makes Jon laugh and giggle. Justin seems to be the only one that can play and make Jonathan laugh non-stop for a few minutes.
We went on a weekend visit to HK Disneyland in Lantau Island on the 3rd of March. Justin thoroughly enjoyed himself sitting his favourite train around the park. Apparently the 30 mins wait standing at the station wasn't much of a concern for him. Although he didn't understand the frustration his dad was going through, complaining that we could have walked to the next station by the time the train arrived. When we finally boarded the train, Justin was so excited that he could hardly sit down. He really enjoyed every minute of it!
We took the Jungle River Cruise, Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Carousel, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (See Desmond & Justin shooting away in the photo). Autopia was pretty fun - futuristic electric cars cruising along the highways of tomorrow. I got into one car while Justin drove another car with Desmond. (His legs are long enough to reach the accelerator). Mickey's PhilharMagic 3-D Adventure show was also pretty interesting. It was very funny watching Justin grab things in the air right in front of him.
To end the wonderful day, we watched the fireworks on disply at the parade square in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
